Miriam Rivera is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Ulu Ventures, a toptier seed stage venture capital (VC) firm based in Silicon Valley focused on high-growth and market-leading information technology and internet companies. The firm has more than $400M in assets under management and 10 unicorns in its portfolio, including three US public companies, Figure, Palantir and SOFI. Ulu was the first Latina-led venture fund in Silicon Valley and Miriam is a recognized pioneer in the technology and VC communities.

Before co-founding Ulu, Miriam was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Google, joining in 2001 as its second attorney. Her work to simplify contracts helped Google scale from $85m to $10b in 5 years.

Miriam earned AB, AM, and JD/MBA degrees from Stanford. She has been a trustee of the university, honored with the Stanford Medal, and elected to the Stanford Multicultural Hall of Fame, which recognizes diverse alumni leaders for their exceptional service to the university and society. Miriam is also the co-founder, former co-president and on the board of Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs, an open-source network of Stanford alumni investors and entrepreneurs.

Miriam serves on the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank Economic Advisory Council, Silicon Valley Bank Advisory Board, Acumen Fund America Board of Directors, Sesame Workshop (Sesame Street), the advisory committee for Stanford’s Diverse Manager Initiative, and was a trustee and chair of the Investment Committee for the Kauffman Foundation, a private foundation with $2.6B in assets. She was also an advisor to the Launch with Goldman Sachs Advisory Council.
